Congressman Lamborn's Statement on the Department of Defense's Political Abortion Memo

Congressman Doug Lamborn, Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee's Strategic Forces Subcommittee and Co-chair of the Values Action Team, released the following statement regarding an October 20th memo from the Department of Defense regarding abortion.

"I am appalled at the recent decision by the Department of Defense to use American taxpayer dollars to facilitate abortions for service members and their families," said Congressman Doug Lamborn. "This is yet another example of the Biden Administration doing everything in its power to disregard human life and push the liberal left's radical agenda against American values.

"This egregious memo was suspiciously released only weeks before the elections. It disregards nearly 50 years of bipartisan consensus that taxpayer dollars should never be used to facilitate abortions. During historically low recruitment by our service branches, this political stunt will only continue to erode the American public's faith in our military.

"I demand that the Department of Defense immediately withdraw this horrendous anti-life directive. Taxpayer dollars should not be diverted from our national security priorities to score sleazy political points."
